Live from the Taipei Airport
So ends up chinese new year isnt that cool. Our bus ride from Garret’s yesterday took about double the time it normally does (the most ridiculous traffic) so we ended up missing our flight from Taipei to Bangkok. Even though we were here about 30 minutes before take off, we were refused entrance to the plane. Not cool. We took a bus into Taipei last night and scavenged the entire city and...
VacASIA
Yesterday was so much fun. We took scooters into a super rural area of Taiwan including mountain scapes and massive temples in the hills. It took about an hour or more to get out of the city, but it was so great to just cruise around on open roads. In the hills we went to this place with hundreds of monkeys and they just sit right on the pathway and grab fruits and peanuts right out of your hands....
Yestadday
Breakfast : went to 7/11 for breakfast, which is one of the hottest spots around, literally. Normal to just pick up any meal there all day. They have these things called “Tea Eggs”
Lunch: scooted over to downtown tainan and it was the first time realizing we are in a different part of the world. We walked around for about 5 hours and did not see one other white person, but...
Rode scooters all day through Anping…. NBD. so insane- had french toast for breakfast with peanut butter, for dinner we had the first legitimate Taiwanese food. pretty tasty.

So, I just awoke from my first real full-horizontal sleep in Tainan (Southern Taiwan, where garret lives). The crew finally got in last night at 5 am local time after about 26 hours of travel, bus rides, and absolutely terrible plane food (pasta with cut up hot dogs?) and we headed down to the 7-11 down the street for some beers and snacks.
